Every dog has their day…Including this one.
It is with nothing but positivity that we announce Chewys Hot Dogs is going to
sleep for a little while. We have had an amazing 6 years of events, a global pandemic, hot sunny days & festival vibes. As serial entrepreneurs, we had to make the decision to put one of our businesses on the back burner to focus on our newest venture into the frozen food world with Yashkas Pierogies.
Yashkas Pierogies is a local, family owned and operated business that brings us great joy in sharing our family recipes with everyone as well as giving us the ability to make time for our small family.
Yashkas Pierogies
We did some really great things with Chewys Hot Dogs. We took a small hot dog cart and ran it as a food truck in these major festivals, which was no easy task. We have fond memories of one of our 1st major events at Dundas Place in London, Ontario in the summer of 2019 before the world shut down.
Right in between Big Daddy Bacon & Field To Truck, our small little pop-up food stand (We think the organizers thought we were a truck at the time, lol) ran a night market from 7-11pm to then following that with Canada Day, a full day from 10am-10pm
Krystal was 7 months pregnant with our son just grinding it out with Marc, selling street food: $4 for a hot dog and $1 for pop … My how the times have changed hahaha. (I think we might literally be insane)
That led to several more events down the road, and from there leading into a collaboration with the London International Airport where we gave away a free trip to Tucson, AZ at Bean Fest in Zurich, ON (the day Rogers data disappeared from all vendor outlets and everyone paid cash, that was awesome), as we were the first to bring the famous Sonoran Dog from Arizona to Canadian streets.
We can’t say this is the end of Chewys, but for now he’s going to rest for a little while. Who knows, maybe one of our kids will revive it down the road, but for now we say with nothing but gratitude, THANK YOU!!!
Thank you so much to anyone who ever stopped by our stand to have a chat and hang out and buy some street meat. You uplifted our business & family brand and put us on the path that created Yashkas Pierogies.
We Invite you to follow us on Facebook & Instagram and continue to support our small family business as we strive to provide the best quality product we can to your table.
With one final bow we will say…SUPPORT YOUR FOOD TRUCKS & SMALL BUSINESSES…The amount of tireless effort from prep to ex*****on and everything in-between that goes unseen, these are some highly driven people that all have the same passion and spirit, to bring smiles to your families’ faces and have a great time at these events.
TOP DOGS…Out!!! ✌️
