We’ll be there and hope you will too!

As many have seen, we cannot operate within town limits on Thursday due to emergency planning and measures needed due to impacted water supply. We have pivoted to relocate to the Blockhouse Fire Hall for our veggie and flower producers, fish, cheeses, mushrooms, meats, fresh juices etc. whose product is harvested already and will otherwise spoil. Please share this post and please come out tomorrow, from 10 to 2pm, to support our hardworking neighbours!

It’s pepper season!! And we’ve got lots of em! Come find them at the Lunenburg Farmers Market tomorrow!

First up is our spiciest - cayennes! They’re hanging on a string to add some festive decor to your kitchen. They’ll dry in place and be perfect to spice up your winter meals.

Shish*to peppers! These thin walled green peppers are great for grilling. Try them on the bbq or in a hot cast iron pan until blistered and top them with lemon and salt. Yum!

Lunchbox peppers! These sweet cuties are perfect for back to school. An incredible snacking pepper and oh so sweet.

Classic sweet peppers - both horn and bell style. Big and beautiful!

Jalapeños! A mild hot pepper. Great for stuffing or adding a gentle kick to any meal or salsa.

We’re in the thick of summer at Spring Tide Farm! 🌞 Garlic harvest was a highlight this week — plus beans, cherry tomatoes, slicers, peppers, cucumbers, and eggplant are rolling in. It’s summer time, so the weeds are growing fast, the critters are nibbling away, the hot crops are nearly ready and we are hard at work trying to keep on top of it all.

Surprise surprise, we’ve been busy and not sharing any photos from behind the scenes. Enjoy these rosy shots of the before, during and after of our now weekly flower harvests! We’re thrilled to see blooms coming along steadily now.

We’re doing our best to appreciate the beauty and abundance of the season, despite some of us struggling to find a true rose during our weekly rose, thorn, bud check in today. The weeds are wild, our fencing project remains daunting and it’s July! We are installing a new fence around the perimeter of the market garden, but it’s been a slog thus far and of course our previous fence is useless at keeping out critters. We didn’t plan to have a huge infrastructure project ongoing in July, but here we are. Wish us luck! And enjoy the harvest!
