We have Schisandra chinensis (Five-Flavour-Fruit) berries available!
Still some fresh from the vines and some frozen as they do not store long. $1/cluster or $40/pound.
Only 2-3 berries/day needed for great health benefits.
Schisandra balanced the nervous system, boosts the immune system, protects the liver and reduces inflammation. It is extensively used in Chinese medicine.
We also sell the plants, which are cold hardy in Nova Scotia.
And the first sweet seedless grapes are ready as well!

We will be at the Lunenburg Farmers Market with our first fruit tomorrow, August 06 from 8am-12pm!
Our 3 year old Bagel peach tree single-handed produced over 600 fruit this year.
Fresh melt-in-your-mouth sweet Bagel peaches and fresh Jujubes are also available at our nursery this weekend. We are open every Friday and Saturday from 10am-5pm and Sundays from 10am-3pm.
Seedless sweet dessert grapes will be ripening soon.

Cold-hardy evergreen Yucca plants!
Very beautiful and unusual looking, the flower stalks of Yucca filamentosa can reach 6 to 8 feet and display large white to cream-coloured bell flowers taken out of a fairy book. Very easy to grow, drought-tolerant and disease-free they love dry sandy soil and full sun. Hardy to USDA zone 4 or -35 Celsius.
The strong fibers of the leaves can be used for cordage.

Rare find!
We have grafted Medlar 'Breda Giant' available, a variety that produces very large fruit.
Medlars (Mespilus germanica) with their sweet, soft and delicious apple-like fruit are very rare and quite unique. Their soft flesh tastes like applesauce with cinnamon. An ancient small tree that is easy to grow and that rivals a rose bush in dignified beauty with its large white blossoms nestled in a whorl of large dark green leaves. Medlars are self-fertile and hardy to USDA zone 4.

We are ready for the season! With a new plant sales area in the making and a new parking lot, we welcome you to the Exotic Fruit Nursery in Lunenburg, 77 Front Centre Road. Lots of new plants in stock, such as disease-resistant sweet cherries, apples, pears and Japanese plums. We are open on Mothers Day!
Exotic Fruit Nursery is open for plant sales on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Come browse for unique fruiting plants and gifts from the Gift Shop. We have Gift Certificates available as well.
The Indoor Jungle is open for guided tours by appointment or for a viewing by donation.
The fruit are already forming on the trees - figs, peaches, nectarines, apricots, almonds, cherries, Asian pears and mulberries...

We are open on Easter weekend! And the greenhouse is in bloom.
The nursery and gift shop are open this Friday + Saturday from 10am-5pm, Sunday from 10am-3pm and also Easter Monday by appointment. The indoor jungle with new stained glass mosaic work will be ready for tours at the end of April.
Eastern Redbud and Sweet Hackberry trees are back in stock, so are locally grown blueberry bushes and disease-resistant raspberry.

Neem oil is back in stock at our nursery!
It is certified organic, pure and cold-pressed, cosmetic grade (meaning you can also use it as a skin care product).
Neem oil is a versatile, natural, organic pesticide and fungicide derived from neem tree seeds, widely used for controlling plant pests like aphids and spider mites, as well as treating fungal issues like powdery mildew. It also has traditional applications in skincare for acne and eczema.
Only one tablespoon for 2 gallons of water needed if used as a spray.
