Rideau Lakes has mush news!
DeltaTop Farm is one of Rideau Lakes newest businesses opening in the Spring of 2020. Featuring year round Organic Gourmet Mushrooms, fresh free range eggs and home grown produce available fresh and preserved throughout the year. DeltaTop Farm is located at 1647 County Road 42, at the junction of 42 and Hicock Road - the highest elevation in Delta.
Operated by Tracey McCready, with mush help from her husband Martin, Tracey has previously operated several businesses including Natureworks Studio (wildlife art), Natureworks Pet Services (dog and cat grooming), and Natureworks Bengals & Pixie-Bobs (purebred show cats). Previous interests included Basel Kennels Reg’d breeding and showing Bernese Mountain Dogs, all in the decades before moving from Gananoque to their dream property just outside Delta.
With no plans to retire after being laid off from Mars Petcare in the fall of 2019 DeltaTop Farm is becoming a reality years earlier than planned. The farm already boasts 2 horses, 40 chickens, 2 turkeys and 3 Labrador Retrievers. Farming will add to an already self-sustaining lifestyle which includes hunting and fishing, foraging and preserving.
