We are a family farm working hard to bring local, nutritious food to your family’s dinner table. Look no further for farm raised, local beef and pork!

Jackknife Creek Land & Cattle is a beef and grain farm owned and operated by the Noble family near Manning, AB. We offer delivery to Manning, Peace River and Grimshaw. We also deliver to Grande Prairie and Edmonton (and points in between) every 4-8 weeks.

This view is pretty hard to beat.

And despite the wet spring having made seeding a long, drawn out affair, this makes things easier.

On days we couldn't be out in the field, knowing the grass and hay were flourishing helped a lot.

Having both grain and livestock on the farm isn't always easy - sometimes it feels like there really isn't an off season.

But how they complement each other is certainly a big plus. If we get an untimely rain on the crops, being able to say "well, the pastures will be loving this at least" sure helps us stay on the bright side!

- 2 lb of medium ground beef (best for burgers!)

Only available for Manning, Peace River and Grimshaw before Father’s Day. Peace River and Grimshaw order deadline is Thursday to guarantee delivery by the weekend.

Our commitment to quality isn't just a promise - it's a practice. Every part of the production cycle, from calving to feeding to finishing, we put in our very best.

And that commitment continues all the way to the end product. Any animal that comes back into our freezer, we inspect a steak to make sure there is adequate quantity and quality of fat - because fat is what lends so much flavour!

A good quality steak will have flecks of white throughout it, called marbling. This marbling will ensure every bite is moist and flavourful.

And looking at the marbling on this one, it makes us feel pretty proud that all our efforts each step of the way shine through so visibly in the end product.

We couldn't be prouder to be putting such premium beef on your plate!

The results are in and these babies have names!

The most popular suggestion by far for two girl names was Thelma and Louise. And we’d be lying if we said this suggestion didn’t make it to the top of our favourite list too.

What's cookin' with the sous vide?

Not your usual! The sous vide is great for taking meat to the perfect internal temperature, but we found a new use for it - warming up colostrum!

The rain on Thursday was not the day we wanted for our busiest day of calving to happen, but we got through it.

Another set of twins, a calf coming sideways that needed help, chilled calves and a new momma that didn't want her calf - all in the rainstorm. Murphy's law right?

So we had to warm up some colostrum (we always try to keep some in the freezer) for a couple of the new calves, and turns out the sous vide is the perfect tool for it!

Alright...callout for name suggestions!

This is our third set of twins, and this time it's two heifers! So hit us with your best name suggestions for these twin girls.

And did you know? Where one twin is a male and the other is female, it is highly unlikely that the female will be fertile and is referred to as a "free martin".

But since these two are heifers, they'll likely both end up in the replacement pen!

Wide eyed coming into the world!

This new baby is sure curly and cute, and long eyelashes to boot.

Calving keeps ticking along here, nearly at the halfway mark and loving the spring sunshine.

Little late on the update, but it's been a whole week since this guy made his debut!

He was certainly impatient as he's still the only calf we have so far. Now he's just waiting for some buddies to arrive to play with!
