We started building out mini swales for various types of plants. The lower swale has black raspberries on it and the other ones are planted with elderberries. In-between each swale is a horseshoe ditch with a mound in the middle for a tree. So far we have a mulberry and a chestnut planted. We still have another 250 feet to go with this concept!

Just a big photo dump of the Tree Nursery and food forest. Lots of Elderberries blooming and much more. In just a few more years this will be producing large amounts of food on about 1/8 acre. We still have 2 other food forests that are a year behind this one and new this year. In total we are still less than an acre planted and much more to go.

Its going to be a busy year here at the Live Free Farmstead. With the cold start to this season our deck and basement are full of plant and tree starts. We also have about 100 trees and bushes in pots outside. We also have put another 30 trees and about 150 elderberry cuttings in the ground so far.

We are massively expanding our Elderberry, Currant, Serviceberry, Sea Buckthorn operation this year. We also put multiple Apple, Pear, Plumb, Walnut, and Chestnut trees in as well.

Within the next few years we will have these tree's available for sale. As well as frozen berries, fresh fruit, and nuts available.

We also hope to have alot more pictures and videos showcasing our food forest systems for all to see!
