IMPORTANT UPDATE on Grieg Seafood sale to Cermaq
In July 2025, it was announced that Cermaq had entered into an agreement with Grieg Seafood ASA to buy Grieg’s farming operations in Finnmark, Norway and in BC and Newfoundland, Canada.
We’re happy to share that the sale was finalized on Monday, December 29th.
Cermaq is a global company, with farming operations in Norway, Canada, and Chile. We’re excited to be part of the Cermaq Group and look forward to the opportunities ahead of us.
We remain committed to safely and sustainably developing our fish farming operations in Newfoundland, long-term employment and career opportunities, investing in local communities and the Newfoundland and Labrador economy, and open communications with our stakeholders, partners, employees, communities, and media.
