We had a true Spring Blizzard this past weekend 🌬️☃️
After a few days of pulling calves out of the snowbanks where they were born, I have never been so happy that our mares are not due to start foaling until June!

We are currently enjoying our 45th Winter of this year in up in the Hinterlands of Saskatchewan, which makes me happy our foals are not expected for a couple of months yet ☃️
However, this inclement weather means I have time to spend at the keyboard...
Every now and again the topic of importing horses comes up, and I love that we have very illustrious European bloodlines in our little herd of Lusitanos right here in Canada. Of course we are not the only breeders, there are a number of quality young Lusitanos available in Canada for buyers to choose from without having to go to Europe, or even the US.

I just adore this mare 😍
Aside from needing a good grooming, Pearl looks great at 9 mos. I'm so curious to meet her foal and see what colour it is. I was surprised to see a buckskin last year, had assumed it would be bay, never even thought of Pearl's one cream gene.
