Good Family Farms 🌱 Organic regenerative farm in the heart of Grey County. Raising pastured beef, pork & chicken + growing crops for healthy soil, food & people! 🐄🐷🐔

Here on the farm we grow organic food while also growing our topsoil. This means feeding the microbes and maintaining a healthy ecosystem. We use techniques such as crop rotations, cover crops, compost tea, manure, rotational grazing and mechanical weeding to grow nutrient dense sustainable crops. Keeping a healthy soil is our number one priority. We do not use any synthetic chemical fertilizers o

r chemical pesticides. We work with the earth to create a relationship that keeps our farm equitable while also keeping our land viable and alive. Our animals are raised solely on pasture and are provided organic feed when necessary (which is grown on our farm). We have maximized the animals health and that energy is transferred to our customers. We also use the animals in a rotational grazing plan to maximize soil health and diversity (mimicking nature). This is done by rotating the animals on different paddocks so as to maximize disturbance and provide adequate and necessary rest for rejuvenation. Building Topsoil and sequestering carbon is the goal with this type of management.

This might look like a friendly lady with her best friend by a fence post on a sunny day.

And you’d be right.

But it’s more than that.

This is standing beside the first fence post on her own farm.

For the past 7 years, Amanda has been part of Good Family Farms—showing up with kindness, grit, and a deep care for the land and the people it feeds.

Now she’s stepping into something of her own.

There’s something special about this moment…
a new piece of land, a fresh start, and the responsibility of raising food for a local community.
