Sometimes I feel like our farm is more of a research farm than a seed farm. Farming is funny business; you only get one try per year with the growing conditions of that season. You’ll almost never get the same weather pattern twice. So we work alongside Mother Nature and control what we can control. Best case, we figure out something new and exciting to continue with. Worst case, we have a learning experience and move on.

A friend of mine once said, “You’ve got to lose money on a quarter every year, don’t you?” I had a good laugh at that because it is unequivocally true!
