If every adult in Nova Scotia spent $21 a week at the farmers’ market for June, July and August, that would be a $214,165,770 investment into local farmers and producers.

The average adult in Canada spends about $336 on food a month (Everyone is different, but this is the best data we have from Canada’s Food Price Report. The average adult spends $4031.83 on food a year, which would be $336 a month.)

If there are about 784,490 adults in Nova Scotia, and we spent a quarter of that grocery budget at the market for July and August, that would be a $214,165,770investment into local farmers and producers.

We know this is not possible for everyone due to barriers like food insecurity and accessibility, but for a lot of Nova Scotians, this is within reach.

We’ve been getting lots of questions about the thick layer on top of our milk -so we made this little info sheet to help explain it! 🥛

That creamy layer isn’t spoilage-it’s the cream naturally rising to the top because our milk is not homogenized. We keep things simple and traditional: pasteurized, but left as natural as possible.

We’ll be sharing these with our retailers so customers can better understand what makes our milk different (and why many people say it tastes so much better 😉).

If you see the cream on top… just shake it!

If you’re one of our retailers and would like to display this info sheet in your store to help inform customers about what makes our milk different, let us know and we’ll make sure you get a copy!
