❤️💛🐦‍🔥Our Employee for the month of May is Simon, our male red golden pheasant! He’s our dazzling, dramatic, and slightly elusive little man.

Originally from the mountain forests of China, Simon brings a bold international presence to the farm. With his golden yellow crest, fiery red chest, and long beautiful tail.

While red golden pheasants are known for being shy and preferring to vanish into dense cover, Simon has chosen a different path. He is currently in full performance mode showcasing elaborate dance routines, dramatic feather displays in an effort to impress the ladies. 🕺🏻🪩

Simon Prefers running and launching himself dramatically into the air over actual flying and will hide instantly if startled… unless he’s mid- performance. His Colours are so vibrant they can fade in too much sun, so he likes lounging in the shade. 😎

Red Golden Pheasants are famously linked to George Washington, who is believed to have kept them at Mount Vernon. In November 1786, the Marquis de Lafayette sent a shipment of exotic animals to Washington that included seven red golden pheasants, which were originally from the aviary of French King Louis XVI.

Congratulations Simon ! May your dances be bold, your feathers stay vibrant and your fan club continue to grow. Love you little buddy! 😍 🐦‍🔥

Farm friends really are the best 🌱🪿💚

Today we received the most exciting care package from Grasshopper Farms Fermes de sauterelles and we are honestly so grateful. An envelope filled with seed packets and the cutest custom stickers, it absolutely made our day 🎃🥬🌽🫛✨

Lauren has been part of our journey from the beginning as one of the farms we got some of our geese from (Bronco, Bonanza, Maria, Django), and it means so much to have that continued connection and support. When she saw just how many goslings we’re expecting this summer, she knew we were going to need to seriously step up our veggie garden game 😂🪿🌿✨

This is exactly what the farming community is all about, supporting each other, sharing resources, and helping one another grow, literally 🤍👨‍🌾🌱✨

We can’t wait to get these seeds in the ground and turn them into something amazing, not just for us but for all the hungry little bills we’ll have running around soon 🐥🪿💛🥹👨‍🌾🫛🌽✨

Thank you so much Lauren, your kindness does not go unnoticed and we truly appreciate you thinking of us 🫶🌾🪿✨

⭐️ Our employee of the month for April is Nairobi, our stunning white Chinese goose. ⭐️

Nairobi has truly come into her own over the past while, maturing into a hardworking, highly vocal, and extremely dedicated member of the team. As our only white Chinese goose, she stands out, and she knows it. She means business, and let’s just say the boys have definitely taken notice. 💅

A prolific layer, Nairobi produces an impressive number of beautiful white eggs each season, proving she’s not just a pretty face, she’s a powerhouse. In fact, some of her prized hatching eggs have already been shipped all across Atlantic Canada.🇨🇦

Our first hatch is expected around April 3rd. While many are already spoken for, there may be a few available. We’re all crossing our fingers for some of her signature white offspring 🤍

From day one, Nairobi has been unforgettable. As a gosling, she was bossy, loud, and absolutely determined to never lose sight of her human mom. If she did? Immediate yelling, and not much has changed she remains delightfully demanding, endlessly chatty, and fiercely loyal. She keeps a close eye on everything and isn’t afraid to sound the alarm if something seems off.

Whether she’s grazing, supervising, or dreaming of her future as a swan, she does it all with confidence and flair.

Interesting fact: the Chinese geese are related to the wild Swan Goose native to Asia, and even made their way into North American history when a pair was gifted to George Washington in 1788. Clearly, Nairobi is carrying on a legacy of greatness.

Nairobi, you are bold, beautiful, bossy and absolutely irreplaceable.

Congratulations sweetie, we love you 🪿💕

Our Employee of the Month for December is Sir Arthur Christmas!

Position: Head Goose • Gaggle Guardian • Winter Watchman

Arthur was our very first goose — a Christmas Day gift who instantly became our “ Christmas Goose,” and the beginning of our lifelong goose obsession. A proud Pilgrim gander, Sir Arthur quickly grew into the name Arthur Christmas, bringing equal parts majesty and mischief to Grasshopper Farms.

He came to us with a few temperament issues after being picked on in his previous flock, but with patience (and many heartfelt conversations), Arthur has blossomed into a kind, confident, and very respectable young gentleman. He has since fathered many beautiful Pilgrim goslings and remains an absolute asset to the farm.

As the official protector of the gaggle, Arthur is always on high alert — scanning the horizon, monitoring everything, and making sure every goose under his care is safe. They say the phrase “take a gander” comes from how observant geese are…..and Arthur proves that true every single day.

We’ve been busy preparing for the winter months here, and Arthur would like to remind everyone to stay warm, stay cozy, and enjoy the holiday season!❤️🌲❤️🌲❤️🌲❤️🌲❤️🌲❤️🌲
