Bulbs of Fire Garlic farm Bulbs of Fire specializes in heirloom garlics. We have a keen interest in the hotter varieties. Hence the tagline 'garlic that bites back'.

Bulbs of fire is owned and operated by Bart Nagel. The Dutchman moved to Canada in 2006 in search of a place where he could live his country dream. The plan was to start a hobby farm with a few chickens and a little garden. Now the chickens are abundant, the hobby farm has become a business and the little garden has turned into an impressive garlic field. In hindsight, living of the land just was

too much fun to just qualify it as a hobby! Our passion for garlic is growing and growing. From the handful varieties we grew since the beginning, it has become a search for hotter, tastier and more obscure varieties of this ancient veggie. In 2013 we're selling our garlic at the Midland and Penetang farmers markets. Alongside we're trying a few garlic festivals. The varieties we're offering this year are: Music, Northern Quebec, Susan Delafield, Russian Red, German Red, French Red, Salt Spring Select, Ukranian Hot, Spanish Roja, Chesnok, Persian Star, Italian Purple Stripe, Duganski, Sicilian Gold, Inchileum Red and Rose de Lautrec.
