Lately at the farm…. hot crops (peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, sweet potatoes, squash) are in the ground, plants are looking happy, and big harvests are coming in. It’s been a fantastic season so far, and a beautiful week with lots of sunshine! Pictured here are:
1. Eggplants being transplanted
2. Cucumbers being trellised (baby cucumbers are staring to fruit!)
3. Hoophouse full of sugar snap peas 🫛
4. Peppers being transplanted (bell pepper, shish*to, serrano and jalapeño)
5. So much garlic!!
6. Onions looking nice. There’s eight beds with an assortment of red, white and yellow onions as well as shallots and leeks.
7. Happy potatoes 🥔 interplanted with grapes that were just planted this year, so not taking a lot of space up. Hoping the process of growing and digging potatoes does a good job at prepping the soil for eventual perennial vegetables.
8. Kohlrabi starting to size up.
9. Purple broccolini.
10. Lettuce mix, should be ready soon!
11. Fava beans, with their beautiful black and white flowers just about to open.
