It’s Medicinal Herb Monday! Each Monday this summer we’re featuring a perennial herb that grows in our garden. Many of them have traditional medicinal uses!

🌼Chamomile is a very popular herb, especially for those of us who can use support with sleep and relaxation. It makes a very nice tea, and can also help with some after-dinner digestion. Its sweet scent provides a lovely sensory experience in our garden. 🌼

Today we’re starting a series called “Medicinal Herb Monday!” 🌿 We’re starting strong with a well-known immune system supporter, Echinacea. 🐝 Its showy flowers are a pollinator favourite, but its roots are where the main medicinal constituents are found.

We’ve got many herbs in our sensory garden, and most of them have been used traditionally for medicinal purposes. Each week, we’ll be featuring an herb we grow! Stay tuned for some fun facts 🤠 Feel free to share how you use these herbs in the comments👇

A core value at Green Care Farms is our integration within our community. Community days offer the public an opportunity to get outside in a beautiful farm setting and lend a hand with maintenance in our sensory garden space. This includes some weeding, watering and pruning. We provide the tools and some treats! We are always happy to see new faces, and are appreciative of our dedicated volunteers. Our next community day is this Saturday, June 13th! DM us to learn more, and the link the register is located in our profile bio. 😄🌻
