A fantastic example of nature helping out. This is a tomato hornworm (a caterpillar) covered in parasitic wasp eggs. The eggs will hatch and the younglings will use the worm as food. Hornworms have a huge appetite and can do a large amount of damage to a tomato plant and its fruits.

If you have noticed that I haven't posted any videos in a while, the fact is that I cannot get them to upload. I've tried different things, but no luck. So, I have moved this year's videos and the other ones that I've made but can't get on Facebook to Youtube. A coworker had encouraged me, but I wasn't sure and then I couldn't post on this site which made the decision easier.

If you are interested, you can see videos of what I do at

Rhubarb is the biggest crop I have of all the flowers, herbs and vegetables. So I do a video on it every spring. Somehow I started this video at the beginning of May, then had to wait for the weather to get warmer to do any work in the patches and when it did warm up I had to turn my attention to everything at once. So, the video got finished late.

A bit late, but about four weeks ago I moved the rest of my seedlings to four inch pots. I'm trying a new method of saving space by doubling up seedlings.

Several weeks ago I started the process of moving seedlings from small seedling cells to 4-inch pots. I want healthier plants with more root growth before I transplant them, so this is what I do.

With seedlings started, boiling sap almost done and the soil not ready for tilling, there's other tasks to do to get ready for the growing season. Most of these are from earlier in the month.

Maple sap needs to be boiled to reduce its water content to become syrup. I don't have a fancy setup, but it does the job. This is how I do it.
