How we started
Wahl Water was founded in September of 1995 by Bruce Wahl. We were called Wahl Water Treatment back then and started as a small water treatment company providing installation and maintenance of water treatment equipment locally within the Manitoulin Island area of Ontario. In 2001 as the company was growing, Jeff Wahl was added to the team and the seeds for change were started. We began the process of updating our procedures, policies and training while the company continued to grow.
Changes and a new leaf
In 2006, Jeff took over primary ownership of the company when Bruce retired and after a few years began streamlining operations and adding personal to solidify our position within our local area. During the years that followed we became known as rural water treatment specialists and were involved in all aspects of adverse water for rural homeowners. This includes water testing, installation of equipment, service work, consultation and provincial regulatory work for campgrounds, churches, community halls, marinas and resorts. Our knowledge base continued to grow and product expertise setup the next phase of our growth.
Name change and the web
2011 was a pivotal year for our company as we rebranded from Wahl Water Treatment and became Wahl Water. We launched a small website that was selling water treatment products marketed to consumers in northern Ontario. The idea was to share our knowledge from the field with consumers looking to purchase parts online and complete the work themselves. This idea proved to be an important step in our company growth. In the years that followed, we expanded to sell products across all of Canada.
Growth
With capital funding investments we moved into a new expanded location in 2016 to keep up with the growth of our business. An expanded warehouse with showroom and office areas provided the structure needed to keep up with the inquires, processing of orders, technical support and all the local operation requirements. Additional warehouses were added to improve shipping and delivery times. Despite all this growth, we have been able to continue our base of operations from the center of beautiful Manitoulin Island located within Lake Huron.
Where we are headed
With the internet becoming more important than ever, we made a necessary decision to continue improving our level of service with a new website template featuring full mobility. We have added multiple additional product lines and now feature over 1000 on the website with more to follow throughout 2019. We continue to provide services for our local customers through our maintenance, installation and water testing programs with plans for expansion. Our water education program is gaining steam and be sure to check our blog for information on water quality and water treatment.
