250 years ago today the founding fathers Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and John Hancock (fans of Madeira wine), toasted to the Declaration of Independence with this delicious Portuguese fortified wine from CR7’s home land the Madeira islands.
When the United States Declaration of Independence was approved on July 4, 1776, Madeira was the most prestigious and widely consumed wine in the American colonies because it won’t spoil during transportation the reason being that the fortified wine and heated for a certain amount of time stabilizing the drink.
The wine in the video is Duke of Clarence from Fréchette, Vins d’exception available at La SAQ Officiel 🍷 🍷🍷🍷
