Mamak Montreal [Currently on hiatus]

Mamak Montreal was born out of the desire to introduce Malaysian cuisine in Montreal.

The first pop-up event was held in November 2015, alongside Restaurant Day Montreal. Our main product is Kaya (aka coconut egg custard spread), which is available for order on a monthly basis. It is hand-stirred for at least 3 hours over low heat to give a thick consistency. Kaya is spread on toast and eaten with coffee and half-boiled eggs back in Malaysia and Singapore. During summer, we make Nasi Lemak, Chicken Rendang and other Malaysian goodies.
