That’s how long it’s been since animals grazed this land.

Fence is finished.
Posts in, wire up and pigs on pasture.

What was once buried in brush is alive again.

Rebuilding the old fence lines my grandfather put in—
and bringing this place back, one step at a time.

Some days just mean more.

Today we were out in the hay fields picking up driftwood, cleaning things up piece by piece.

The best part? My kids got to drive the same tractor I learned on with my grandfather.

I still remember him putting it in gear and telling me,“Just steer it where we’re going.”

So that’s exactly what I did.

Watching them behind that wheel, on that same land… it felt like everything came full circle.

Same tractor. Same fields. Next generation.

This is what revival looks like.

Keep the lights on.

Back at it again today, got almost everything cleared and ready for a new fence. Just a couple more hours and the pasture and field edge will be clear! The land still holds its cattle fence from the mid 90s. Crazy to think it was once a pasture, and now it an alder infested mess. Next weekend, posts are being driven in! Stay tuned 😎

Back at it, pulling up page wire! Got the whole section back up and out of the weeds. Just a small section is deemed to be unusable. Big win for the farm. Little back story here: this page wire was laid by my grandfather in 1994 when he separated the section where our family garage now operates. Good thing it’s galvanized! Went and check other sections by the hay fields, that section needs some serious attention. One section at a time 💪

Big day on the farm.

That old differential that sat between the chicken coop and the barn bridge my entire life… gone.

No exaggeration — it’s probably been there since before I was born.
Today I dragged it out with the tractor, hauled it to the scrapyard, and cleared it for good.

Took a full load up — scrap from the barn and garage — even had to throw chains on the Dodge just to make the climb.

Step one: decades of junk, gone.

Step two: started reclaiming the old fence line my grandfather put in when he split the land for the garage.
Pulled the page wire out and started bringing that line back to life.

You can still see the old posts if you look close.

Bit by bit, this place is coming back.

First look at the home yard.

It’s not cleaned up yet, and there’s plenty of work ahead, but this is where the revival first began.

Piece by piece, we’re bringing the old farm back.
