Quick update on The Wandering Market ❤️

The market is currently closed following the termination of the tenancy at our current location.

I was not aware that the rent had gone unpaid.

I first learned there was an issue with unpaid rent when the landlord contacted me at the end of August.

Since then, things have moved very quickly and there are still ongoing discussions about what happens next, including a proposal for the market to reopen under a new name.

I want to be clear that I have not agreed to sell my assets while vendors go unpaid.

I would love to see someone caring take over the market and continue what we’ve built for the community, our customers and local producers.

There are a lot of moving pieces, and I’ll share more when I have confirmed information.

Putting some feelers out there. ❤️

It’s no secret that things have been tough for The Wandering Market lately.

I know a lot of people in our community have seen that, asked questions and genuinely cared about what happens to this little market. ❤️

Despite the challenges, there is still a really great business here that has been built over many years by many hands.

I think it’s worth exploring whether there might be someone out there interested in taking it on and seeing what they could do with it.

More than anything, I would love to find someone who genuinely cares about local food, local farmers and producers, and keeping something like this in our community.

That has always been such a huge part of what The Wandering Market is about, and it would be pretty amazing to see someone take that and continue to build on it.

There is an established customer base, some amazing local producers and suppliers, trained staff, systems already in place, equipment, inventory, delivery operations and a pretty incredible community behind it.

I am also willing to help whoever takes it on as long as it takes to make things good.

So I’m putting some feelers out.

There are different ways something like this could potentially be structured, and obviously anything beyond an initial conversation would be subject to proper corporate approval, due diligence and legal agreements.

If this sounds like something you might genuinely be interested in, send me a message.

And even if it’s not for you, commenting below and sharing this post would be really helpful. You never know who might see it or who might know the right person. ❤️

I would really love to see this little market land in the hands of people who care about local food and our local producers as much as our community does.

Oh, don’t mind us… we’re just enjoying some celebratory charcuterie on our BRAND NEW ROOF!

That’s right, the roof was finally completed a few weeks back, and we’re revving up for the next stage of the process.

After what has felt like a very long wait, we can finally say we have our building permit! It’s been a bit of a messy process due to things outside of our control, BUT we’re finally through that hurdle. That means the major work to transform this space into Sunset Brewing can begin.

So, for real this time… you’re going to start seeing things happen. Over the coming weeks, the project will really start moving, and we’ll have a lot more to share as the space takes shape.

We know there will probably be a few more curveballs along the way, but we finally have some clarity around what the timeline could look like — which means we can also start looking ahead to fulfilling our crowdfunding perks!

And for anyone who missed the crowdfunding campaign, we’ve brought back a limited number of perks on our website for one last chance to get in on the merch.
