Hi friends and family,
Many of you have heard me talk about The Golden Villages over the past year.
What began as a deeply personal response to a loved one's journey with dementia has grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined.
The Golden Villages vision is a 'campus style' land based dementia friendly community integrating supportive housing , on-site programming, community engagement, naturalized landscape, gardens, greenhouses , produce and childcare.
YUP
Today, the project has incredible momentum and being explored with support from healthcare leaders, researchers, architects, community organizations, and Indigenous partners who share a belief that there is a better way to support people living with dementia.
The current endorsements are HUGE...
At the heart of it is a simple idea:
~The land is our care model~
Nature, purpose, community, animals, gardens, and meaningful daily life woven into care.
