Setbacks in Farming are hard, something you invested in months ago can be lost overnight. This year a bear family ate our entire fall / winter crop of carrots. Every. Single. Carrot. Hundreds of pounds. But that's the gamble - and farmers are known to absorb the shock, make a new plan, and solve the problem. We have a long list of failures and tragedies over the years (greenhouses breaking, killing every tomato, droughts suffocating, frosts surprising, homes lost) but we are farmers, so we just have a little cry, brush ourselves off and keep going.
