She ain’t pretty, but she’s so darned beautiful! 😍

Last year I pickled garlic scapes to use them in my jars of garlic dill pickles later in the season(they are yummy too).
But I still have a fair bit of those jars left so ….

Enter:
Green Garlic Powder!

The scapes were dehydrated and then pulverized. Someone else might put prettier spin on that. 🤣
Subtle Garlic flavor with chive and leek notes.
Soft, sweeter, more herbaceous - that’s what I notice.
So Cool. 😎
Who needs some in their life?

The fruit is sweet!
While I would love a bit of company picking today, I cannot yet say how much we will find.

A spot may open over the weekend(booked lightly now to insure satisfaction) but we are booking into Thursday now. 💜 🎉

After going out earlier this spring and finding my canes laid over and no growth(beyond Manitoba Maples), I was discouraged and put my energy other places.
But I went for a walk with a great friend last night and found things I wasn’t expecting to see.
There’ll be raspberries to pick this year after all!
Check out those flowers! Maybe 2 weeks away but probably 3 weeks.

Good thing there’s no thorns. 🤪

What makes you smile?

It’s been a hard winter, and it’s never kind to this guy.
But this photo is pure joy, that reflects all the practice of the summer and fall.
4 horses content to wait their turn for the love of a small human.
It was nice to be able to do a couple mani/pedi sessions while she was busy loving them up. 💜

Myrtle never ceases to amaze me.
She’s so chill now! It shouldn’t surprise me though - we select for temperament as part of the genetics.
There are some good 4-H prospects in the making around here. Wink, wink.
