Since Robyn started getting sick at age 2 she’s spent a lot of time at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on the Paediatric Floor.

We’ve received unreal care from the nurses, student nurses, child life specialist, paediatricians, resident doctors, mental health support workers, unit clerks, patient porters, First Nations liaison nurse, social workers, and dietary/housekeeping.

Since she is a bit of a frequent flyer we’ve been cared for by a lot of the same nurses over the years. Each time she’s admitted she receives the biggest welcome.

This fundraiser will be specifically for the paediatric floor at NRGH.

One very useful item during an hospital admission is grippy socks , slippers or sandals to wear.
Easy to slip on for bathroom trips, diagnostic tests, or walking around the unit.
It also helps with fall prevention and safety.

We’ve purchased 20 pairs of slippers/sandals in a variety of sizes to donate to paediatric patients admitted at NRGH.

You can sponsor a pair for just $15

The pair will go to deserving brave child, and we will also be able to give a cash donation to NRGH paediatric floor.

Last Saturday it was so beautiful we decided to throw together a little lemonade stand (uncle chuck/Charles Bendall Realtor suggested the idea to Robyn a few days prior) and gave her the funds to get started.

The day before she wasn’t feeling well and it was another UTI caused by her vesicoureteral reflux.
We have to be very careful and start treatment asap as she only has one Kidney left now.

I was so proud of her for taking the initiative even though she wasn’t 100%

I shared her lemonade stand in a local Facebook group and raved about her being so strong despite her ongoing Kidney and health troubles.

Maybe half an hour later we met this amazing lady.
She saw the post and wanted to meet Robyn and she also has a Kidney disease and was sick as a child.

She gave us so much encouragement and kind words that this mama really needed to hear that day ❤️

If felt like we were meant to meet and share our stories. It truly builds strength talking to people who first hand understand what she goes through.

After she left I talked to Robyn and said what if we keep doing this and give back to help other kids with kidney issues. She was so excited about it!

Amazing how one 7 year old girl, a jug of lemonade, some social media magic and kind people reaching out can start such a great chain of events 🥰

Last post of the day 🙈

So many exciting things in the works!

Now in contact with and have support from:
BC Children's Hospital Foundation
The Kidney Foundation of Canada, BC & Yukon Branch

In talks with some local organizations for collaboration opportunities and support

A portable cart getting made so we can attend local events.

This has all happened since only Saturday 🙈

I have a really great feeling that this project of ours is going to be a huge success, raise awareness and do some great things for kids like Robyn 🥰

Stay tuned for more updates, and can’t say thankyou enough for all the support! We’ll never forget who was here in the beginning ❤️❤️❤️❤️

She is so excited and has been reading the comments all day!
