Our Story:
Our little farm is a family affair; in the wake of COVID we made a huge decision as a family to leave our individual homes and purchase some land with enough space to work together towards becoming more self-sustaining. We chose a property that had fallen into disrepair and have been working hard on lovingly restoring it bit by bit with the hopes of making it positive fixture in our co
mmunity. Since moving to the farm, we have shared many wonderful experiences and milestones, from learning how to be farmers (seriously, we had to learn it all from scratch - a never-ending process), to weddings in the backyard, and recently added a third generation into the mix. Our Values:
Taking a regenerative agricultural approach, we have introduced a variety of animals and focused on cultivating the land and restoring the natural health of the soil, all while remaing pesticide-free. Our Name:
We've had many new experiences on this property and one of our first was building a small barn for our new piglets, Petunia and Clover. No surprise to us, getting their new space ready took longer than anticipated and we ended up getting our piglets before we finishing painting their new home. One of the many lessons we learned early on was that piglets and paint do not mix! As the barn was being painted, they wouldn't stop excitedly running around their new digs in circles and soon, we had paint spotted piglets! It just seemed so typical of our adventures here, not always sure what we were doing, making more messes at times than we were fixing and always having a laugh about it. So the Painted Pig Farm began!
