I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how grateful I am for this community.
When I started D***s, I had an idea, a blank canvas of a hotdog cart, and a whole lot to learn. I’m still learning every single day, but I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have so many people point me in the right direction along the way!
To the Nanaimo community, thank you for showing up, supporting local, trying our food, sharing our posts, recommending us to your friends, and giving us opportunities to be part of your events. Every single one of those things has made a difference.
To the food truck and small business community, thank you for the advice, the pointers, the conversations, the introductions, and even the little tips that you probably didn’t think twice about.. There have been so many people willing to share what they’ve learned and help me avoid mistakes they had to learn the hard way.
And to everyone who has ever taken a few minutes to answer a question, make a suggestion, give me some honest feedback, or simply tell me to keep going, thank you. You’ve helped shape D***s more than you probably realize.
But honestly, D***s has become about more than just building a business fo me…..
I’m incredibly excited for what feels like a second chance at life. I’m excited to keep growing this business, but just as importantly, I’m excited to grow as a human being alongside it. I’ve already noticed so many positive changes in myself since starting this journey, in the way I think, the way I treat people, the way I handle challenges, and the way I look at my future.
There’s still a long way to go, but for the first time in a long time, I’m genuinely excited about the person I’m becoming and the life I’m building.
I’m proud of how far D***s has come, but I’m even more excited about where we’re going.
Nanaimo has been incredibly good to D***s, and I don’t take that for granted at all.
Thank you for believing in this little hotdog business and for being part of the journey!!!
