Calf vaccination day on our farm. The calves get a live 5 way vaccine, and ivomec to prepare them for the upcoming stocker sale. They will also be introduced to corn silage later this week. This prepares them for feedlot rations so they adjust much better when they reach their new home.

Got an early start today at planting wheat in hopes of beating today's forecasted rain. Wheat is all in so let it rain.

We have our straw trailer setup at 3000 County Rd 8. Perfect for fall decorating, pet & livestock bedding, garden mulch, erosion control, or even insulating a drafty area. Due to a couple large orders we have a limited supply of straw left. The trailer will stay out until we are sold out , so grab yours early. Bales are $6 each, and there is a box on the end of the trailer to leave money in.

2026 hay season is officially done. Now to get the hay equipment cleaned, greased and put away for winter. Been a good year. Some weather challenges, but definitely lots of quality hay put up.

Food for thought 🤔.
