In introducing the final Canadian World Trial Team member, we get to brag a little.
Chris Jobe will be running Lucy, a Pip daughter (bred by Chris)!
Both father and daughter will represent Canada at the World Trial!

Introducing Christine Jobe
Chris was raised on a farm in Saskatchewan and now lives in Southern Alberta, where Border Collies are integral to her personal and professional life. Chris has ranched in both Alberta and Alaska, where she recognized the indispensable role that a well trained Border Collies plays.
Chris is an accomplished handler, trainer, and competitor and has been involved with Border Collies for more than twenty five years. She has trialled successfully throughout Canada and the United States. Chris earned the title of Reserve Open Champion at the Hilltop Championship with her reliable dog, CS Lucy, qualifying her to be a part of the team representing Canada at the 2026 World Sheepdog Trial.
In addition to her competitive achievements, Chris has hosted numerous herding clinics and trials. Chris’s experience spans sheep, cattle, and using her Border Collies in specialized wildlife applications.
Chris is looking forward to travelling with CS Lucy to the World Trial in Scotland in 2026. A dream come true!!

The next member of the Canadian World Trial Team to highlight:

Introducing Amanda Milliken
Amanda brings decades of excellence and leadership to the Canadian World Trial Team. She has represented Canada on two World Trial teams—Ireland (2005) and the Netherlands (2017)—competing at the highest level of international sheepdog trialing.
At home, Amanda is a seven-time Canadian Champion, a U.S. National Champion (2005), and a U.S. Nursery Champion. Her contributions to the sport have been formally recognized with her induction into the American Border Collie Association Hall of Fame, and she is especially proud to have two home-bred and trained dogs, Hazel and Monty, also inducted into the ABCA Hall of Fame.
Amanda is the long-time host of the Kingston Sheep Dog Trials, now entering their 38th year, and she is the founding president of the Canadian Border Collie Association (CBCA), reflecting her lasting commitment to the growth and stewardship of the sport in Canada.
Currently recovering from hip replacement surgery, Amanda is on track to return to competition this summer and is looking forward to running Tui and Dar as she resumes her place on the trial field.

This is the first year Canada has been invited to send a Junior to the World Trials.
Meet Jack Crook and Pic!

Jack Crook is a 17-year-old student who is excited to be competing as a Canadian Junior handler in his first World Sheepdog Championship in Scotland this Fall. An interest in racing pigeons unexpectedly led him down his current path when he met some pigeon handlers that also competed with border collies in herding trials. After watching his first trial, he knew he had found his passion. He bought his first border collie from Hanna Harmon and well known handler Corey Perry, helped him get his first shepherding job grazing sheep for Ken Price in Northern BC. That job gave him some practical experiences that he has carried into starting his own small flock of Suffolk/Canadian Arcott crosses. He is hoping to increase his flock to 50 ewes by this Fall. Jack pays his bills by training dogs and working at 8 Seconds Western where he sells feed and repairs saddles. With his leather working skills, he makes dog collars and leashes and has donated some of them for the Canadian World Trial Auction coming up in February.
Jack has been trialing for about a year and a half and his working partner in this time has been his 5-year-old male border collie, Pic. Pic came to Jack as a started dog from Jamie Wagner in Saskatchewan and Jack acknowledges that although he has put the finishing touches on the dog, he has had many people help him with the details. This spring he plans on getting some mentorship from World Trial competitor and multi winning Canadian Champion handler, Amanda Milliken in Ontario. Amanda will share some of her World Trial handling tips and in return he will help her out with lambing.
As Canada’s first Junior competitor in the World Trial, Jack says he is most looking forward to the opportunity to see the best handlers in the World and learn as much as he can to improve his own handling and training. A bonus wish would be to find a second dog while he’s over there and bring it home to Canada!
