It's with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of Jeff the llama's passing. He fought hard, but succumbed to meningeal worm yesterday. We laid him to rest peacefully in a place where he can continue to look over his ladies.
Jeffrey was a friend to many, always the nosiest animal on the farm. You'd think he would have made a great guard animal, except for his intense dislike of the dark, the rain and snow. Our farm handyman crafted the best and insulated stall in the world, equipped with a heating lamp which Jeff loved laying under in the colder months.
Many of you have popped by to meet this camelid marvel, fed him a daily apple or carrot (or two). He lived up to the many stories we've shared. His new friends always left smiling.
Jeff came as a package deal 5 yrs ago to us, with his ladies Beatrice and Annie. Whom he loved almost as much as his purple winter jacket and heat lamp. He was the llama we didn't know we needed. After countless hours spent in his presence, and tending to his rather unique needs - this big guy taught us so much in life and brought joy to everyone around him. We continue to remember his memory by bringing back so many of these stories, and there are many.
Jeff, Jeffrey, our sweet drama llama - may you rest in peace and have countless apples in the next world. Thank you for choosing us to be your people. We're honoured to continue to love and care for your ladies in your memory.
