Locally raised at Snoetic Farm in New Hazelton. Humane, regenerative practices. No antibiotics or growth-promoting hormones. Dexters are a heritage dual-purpose breed of cattle known for the quality and flavor of the meat. They are smaller in stature than your average commercial cattle breed and so not only do they finish smaller, the cuts of meat are smaller –particularly the steaks. Dexters are a great way to put a manageable quantity of farm fresh beef in your freezer and without breaking the bank.

Our pasture-roaming girls have moved to their winter digs and are enjoying a large yard with trees and covered spaces, pumpkins, and flowering brassicas plants.

Take a long look in the mirror, egg thief!

Our two longterm ravens recently learned to enter the Eggmobile through the hendoor, hop across the slatted floor and up into the communal nestboxes. From inside, they are able to reach into the rollaway trays and take eggs. The first time they took about 66 in one afternoon while I was out on deliveries. The next time I was out delivering, they took 26.

So far, this mirror is great back up when the dogs are off duty. I'm hoping to get a few more days out of this trick!
