Today I’m taking a moment to celebrate this man and everything he does for our farm and our animals. Whether he’s out feeding cows in the dark on a cold winter morning or “MacGyvering” a new invention to make things work just a little better… he’s always showing up.

Our farm (and our community) are better because of you.❤️

🥩 Hanger Steak (the butcher’s secret cut)

If you know, you know… and if you don’t, well, this is your sign.

Hanger steak is one of the most flavourful cuts of beef. Rich, tender, and best cooked hot and fast, it’s a favourite among butchers for a reason.

The secret? Keep it simple:
✔ Salt, pepper, garlic.
✔ High heat.
✔ Don’t overcook.
✔ Slice against the grain.

✨ Finish with a little butter, and you’ve got something seriously special.

🐄 Friday Farm Fun Fact

Last week we shared a glimpse into calving season... the new life, the tiny calves, the beautiful moments 🤎🐄

But there’s another side to it, too, and our 2026 calving season has been the toughest we've had in many years. In fact, we had 2 emergency vet calls this past weekend… something we've never experienced before… 🐄💔

Not every birth goes as planned. Sometimes calves don’t make it. Sometimes we lose a cow, and those are the days that stay with us. Farmer Al isn't one to cry, but I (Nancy) have cried a fair bit lately 🤍

This year, we've experienced a number of losses (both cows and calves) on the farm. It's tough emotionally, psychologically, and financially. But in one recent situation, after a young mama died while giving birth, another cow stepped in and adopted the orphaned calf, which is something we’re incredibly grateful for 🐄✨

Farming means showing up for all of it. The joy, the responsibility, and the hard moments we don’t always share 🌾

The good days are beautiful 🤎
And the hard ones are part of our farm story too 💫

Just a quick note for the long weekend so you can plan your visits accordingly:

• Good Friday - Closed
• Saturday - Open 10:00 AM till 2:00 PM
• Easter Sunday - Closed
• Easter Monday - Open 10:00 AM till 5:30 PM

We’ll be taking a little time to rest and spend time with our families, and we hope you get to do the same. 💛

QUALITY LOCAL PASTURE RAISED BEEF & CHICKEN

Breault Stock Farm is located just outside of New Liskeard, off Highway 65E. Alain H. Breault and Nancy Frey are the proud owners/operators. Having both grown up on family farms Alain and Nancy learned early in life that the farming lifestyle involves lots of hard work but also tremendous satisfaction at the end of a long day.

Alain and Nancy love animals and living in a peaceful rural setting. Watching the chickens peck the grass, and meandering outside is always a source of joy. The same is true, when watching the beef calves frolic in the barnyard and the pastures, as they explore the wide-open fields that they graze with their mothers during the summer and fall months.

After losing our century barn to a fire in June 2019, we were forced to revisit our farm business model. Farm gate sales, have always been an interest of ours, and after much deliberation, we have decided to start marketing our beef and chicken to the local consumer. Today, more than ever before, people want to know where their food comes from and how it was raised. Breault Stock Farm has always operated with the highest standards in animal treatment, and our beef and chicken are of excellent quality.
