The Town of Newmarket presents the Halloween Trail starting on Oct. 22nd-24th. This year, admission to the Haunted Halloween Trail will require a $5 ticket per person. Tickets will go on sale on Monday, October 5th at 12:00 p.m. Tickets are available at https://secure1.tixhub.com/newmarket/online/b_otix.asp . Looks like lots of fun for the whole family!

Check out the Chickadee Cafe at Mulock Park over Thanksgiving weekend. The Hoiday hours are 9am-4pm on Sunday and Monday and then back to extended hours of 7:30am-7pm Monday to Friday and 8am - 8pm on the weekend until the end of October.

My wife and I stopped in at the Chickadee Cafe on Saturday morning. The staff were all very friendly and the service was excellent. We got a latte and a pastry to go and found some chairs on the property to enjoy them with our dog, Maggie.

There’s lots of room inside, on the balcony and on the patio, so you can choose depending on the weather. The town Wi-Fi works well, which will be greatly appreciated by people like me who work remotely. The Chickadee Cafe will be my meeting place going forward.

Mulock Park is a beautiful, peaceful place, and the Chickadee Cafe is a great way to start or end your visit. Congratulations to Anne-Marie and her Team!

There is someting special happenning today. Terrry's determination, pereseverence, courage, compassion and sellflessness are all things that we as Canadians believe in and aspire too. Thank you to all of the volunteers, partiicipants and donors that make this day special every year!

A Canadian journey that began in 1980 has now passed a remarkable milestone. The Terry Fox Foundation announced in February 2026 that more than $1 billion has been raised for cancer research over the decades. This Sunday, September 20, the annual Terry Fox Run continues that legacy across Canada. The Foundation says the movement now engages millions of Canadians, including students, volunteers and community participants. For Canadians who remember Terry’s Marathon of Hope, it is remarkable to see what one journey eventually became. Where were you when you first heard about Terry Fox?
