This has been a long time coming! 55 cases of bulk apples went out this week to the school food programs in Nova Scotia and now we’ve perfected our individual portion packs because that’s what most of the hospitals want!

this is what it’s all about! Today we processed 665 pucks of fresh basil pesto! We love collaborating with farmers and restaurants to bring more value added products to Nova Scotia!

🍠 There’s a lot of work behind one sweet potato!

Our team has been busy peeling, trimming, processing and packing sweet potatoes for hospitals across our region, and if you’ve ever peeled a sweet potato, imagine doing hundreds of pounds of them!

At The Station, a big part of what we do is take food and turn it into the ready-to-use products that large kitchens need. That means a lot of hands-on work behind the scenes before that food ever makes it onto a plate.

For this run, the sweet potatoes themselves aren't locally grown (they're simply not in season here right now) but the processing, jobs and impact are happening right here at The Station.

And when Nova Scotia sweet potatoes are available? We’ll be very excited to get those onto the line too.

For now, we're pretty proud of this crew and all the work that goes into getting these sweet potatoes ready for our local hospitals.

 Today we said goodbye to our Dietitian Intern, Morgan, who has been with us for the last few months. The Station is a proud supporter of practicum learning and we open our doors to community and admin placements for upcoming Dietitians!
