1. Tucan Holistic began with Zied’s personal health journey and our shared search for healing
2. Zied grew up in Tunisia, shaped by olive oil and real food traditions
3. Emmy grew up in Indonesia, surrounded by rich culinary culture and natural ingredients
4. After moving to Canada, Zied was diagnosed with a brain malformation
5. His mid-20s were marked by surgeries, scans, seizures, and the belief that medication would be lifelong
6. In 2011, Zied started Tucan to share high-quality olive oil from his home country
7. At that time, Tucan had no healing mission — it was simply about quality food
8. Everything shifted as we began to see food as part of healing
9. Emmy, a Montessori school founder and certified holistic nutritionist, transformed our kitchen
10. Meals became intentional, ingredients purposeful, and cooking part of daily care
11. We began questioning what “normal” food really meant
12. Healing happened slowly — one meal, one ingredient, one choice at a time
13. The possibility of becoming medication-free gradually emerged
14. In 2021, we reimagined the brand as Tucan Holistic
15. Tucan became a reflection of our life, not just a business
16. Clean, honest ingredients became non-negotiable

18. In September 2023, Zied became medication-free — a milestone we share

20. In 2024, we turned toward regenerative farming and deeper local

22. Tucan Holistic remains family-run, with our two adult children occasionally helping at markets
23. We love spending time outdoors through hiking, backcountry camping, and mountain biking
