🍑 It’s peach season in Niagara and I will definitely be eating my weight in peaches this summer - they’re too good!
We love adding them to salads, sandwhiches, muffins, ice cream, pies, and of course just taking a bit!
We came up with this recipe a few years ago - it’s a great way to make a fancy looking, fuss free dessert. And it’s made in the air fryer so it doesn’t heat up the kitchen. (Of course, you can use your oven to bake them as well).
They taste like summer and are perfect with a scoop of ice cream.
Air Fryer Peach Crisps
Recipe:
* ¼ cup butter, chopped to small pieces
* 1 cup oats
* ½ cup flour (all purpose, whole wheat or gluten free)
* ¼ cup honey, plus more for drizzling
* ½ tsp cinnamon, plus more for sprinkling
* 6 peaches, cut in half
Directions:
1. Turn air fryer on to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Place peaches on air fryer tray with the skin side down (depending on the size of your air fryer, you may not fit all 12 halves in the oven at once). Drizzle the top of each peach with a little bit of honey and sprinkle with cinnamon.
3. Air fry for about 5 minutes until the peaches are slightly browned on top and warm all the way through.
4. While the peaches are cooking, prepare your topping. In a small bowl combine the remaining ingredients. Using your hands or a pastry cutter, mix the butter with the flour and oats and honey until a crumble forms.
5. Remove the peaches from the air fryer and top evenly with the crumble.
6. Place them back in the air fryer and cook for another 3–5 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
7. Serve peaches with an extra drizzle of honey, or a scoop of ice cream.
8. If you don’t have an air fryer, these can also be made in the oven—you may just have to extend the baking time a little bit.
✨ Bonus tip: If you only want to make a few peaches, you can use the extra topping to make little cookie balls. We add mini chocolate chips to the dough and roll them into tiny bite-size pieces. Throw them in the freezer and they make an amazing topping for ice cream—or just a delicious little snack!
