Growing your own tree nuts, fruits and berries is easy when you have hardy plants that are high quality and selected by experts. With over 50 years of experience our team are leaders in the business. Elderberries are often known for their medicinal berries and beautiful native summer flowers. But did you know that elderberry flowers often called 'Elderflowers', also have their own unique uses?
Elderflowers are prized for their stunning, angelic blooms, paired with their sweet, musky, and floral aroma. 💮
They are commonly used to make beverages, such as cordials, teas, and liqueurs. St-Germain liqueur is crafted from up to 1000 elderflowers per bottle! 🍾
In the kitchen, they can be dipped in batter and fried as fritters, or infused into baked goods.
Elderflower is prized in traditional herbal medicine for fighting colds, relieving sinus/nasal congestion, aiding seasonal allergies, and reducing fevers. 🤧🩹

At Grimo Nut Nursery, we grow and sell elderberry/elderflower plants so that you can make medicinal elderflower tea, fry homemade elderflower fritters, and bask in the beauty and smell of elderflower blooms (with your fellow bees and butterflies) in your own backyard! ❤️❤️

You don’t need a sprawling country orchard to grow your own antioxidant-packed berries. If you have space for a standard ornamental shrub, you have space for Aronia and Haskaps!

These two compact powerhouses are perfectly suited for small yards:

a walnut seedling about 2 weeks old. it can live off the nutrients in the nut for 4-6 weeks. after that the nut is depleted, and the new seedling has to live off it`s own new roots for a water supply . it has to have enough leaves to get energy from the sun. with a little luck the nut has provided enough energy to grow both roots and a top with leaves. if it is in shade, it dies, if it does not get enough water, it dies. all in all quite a miracle, no matter if a new born plant or a new born animal.

We carry a wide variety of unique nut and fruit trees, plus berry shrubs, many of which are natives that support wildlife. Our plants feature a diversity in size, making our options perfect for both small yards, and large-scale growing.

Here's a small taste of our catalogue: Hazelnuts, Walnuts, Chestnuts, Persimmons, Figs, Pawpaws, Arctic Kiwi, and Serviceberry/Saskatoon Berries.

We are open 10-5 Tuesday-Saturday. Make sure to visit our location at 979 Lakeshore Rd, Niagara-on-the-Lake *this July* to take a look at our potted plant selection!

*We will be selling potted plants (for pickup only) starting July until October. Make sure to check our website early July to see our general catalogue of potted plants. Supplies are limited—make sure to get them before they're gone!!
**We do not offer holds for potted plants**

Plus, pre-orders for plants next year (in spring) can placed this July. Ordering trees for next year guarantees that we can get you a specific plant/variety of your liking, and at a lower cost compared to our potted plants!
