Windchime Farms

Windchime Farms Equine Care Facility Windchime Farms is one of Niagara-on-the-Lake's best kept horse secrets. (As we very rarely advertise our services.)

Located on the Upper Canada Heritage Trail in Niagara-on-the-Lake which offers hours of picturesque trail riding starting right at the barn driveway! (approximately 30 minute ride to Lake Ontario) Our facility offers a large barn with a spacious hallway which in turn allows an abundance of fresh airflow at all times of the year. We also offer a 160X80 indoor arena with sand and crumbed rubber foot

ing which is groomed regularly. Second floor viewing room/lounge can double as a class room area or lunch room for small groups with clinic applications. Which we do like to host because no one should ever stand in the way of increasing our horse knowledge! Known as one of Niagara's nicest indoor arena facilities. The arena is also open for use as a location to host your clinic. Some Rules and Requirements do apply. We have instructors who come in or you can bring your own as long as they provide insurance slip. This is a very private farm so an appointment to view is necessary. Please feel free to call or message me to set up a time. We look forward to taking care of horses and their people!

Morning Mantra: "It takes a lot of courage to live life on your own terms."

It can be very hard to be brave enough to live according to your vision and purpose. But you must find the courage to do it.

Find the courage to choose a life that feels good to YOU, not the life that is expected of you.

Find the courage to choose the things that make your SOUL feel safe, not the things that simply look good on the outside.

Find the courage to choose a path that feels right for YOU, not the one that makes the most sense to other people.

Find the courage to choose YOURSELF; to honor what brings you peace, joy, and purpose, not just what the world tells you should matter.

Find the courage to choose your life, for YOU.

Morning Mantra: "Happiness isn't a big thing. It's a million little things."

Oh the elusive happiness. We all want it, but many feel like it will never happen. But guess what? Happiness is a CHOICE, not a result.

The truth is nothing will make you happy until you choose to be happy. You can wait until you are where you think you need to be in life to be happy, or you get what you think you need to have to be happy, but it won't come.

Because your happiness will not come TO you. It can only come FROM you. Because it's not outside of you, it's IN you.

Happiness is what you ARE, not what you have. It depends solely upon your own attitude. So the sooner you decide to BE happy, you will be.

You can be happy no matter what your circumstances might be. So, lift your own self-imposed restrictions on happiness. Count your million little blessings, and be happy.

Note: I do recognize that those dealing with clinical mental health issues cannot just choose to be happy. This post is directed to those who are waiting for external things to make them happy.

Morning Mantra: "Let kindness lead the way."

Our country and the people in it are going through a hard time right now, some worse than others. Some can handle it better than others, but no one is exempt from this.

Some are affected financially, some mentally, some spiritually, others socially. There is a big riff and it is fueled by fear and hostility. Even some families and friendships are strained. The economy is not great and prices are really high. Frankly it has affected my business too and has made me re-examine what I spend.

But I refuse to let external influences change the way I treat others. And since we rarely know how badly someone might need some extra kindness right now, I just make it a habit to be kind to everyone.

If you are having a good day, share your vibes....
Smile at everyone you meet.
Listen to others with interest.
Ask your loved ones if they are okay.
Let drivers merge.
Pay for someone's coffee if you can afford to.
Offer to go to the grocery store.
Babysit for a stressed out mom (or dad).
Feed up for your barn owner- or at least don't add to their burdens.
Donate goods, services, or money.
Lose judgement and criticism and remember we are all in this together.

Treat people the way you want to be treated on your bad days.

Morning Mantra: “You need the journey you are on right now.”

There is not a wasted second in your life. Every experience you go through is meant for you.

You may not understand why in the moment, but every part of your life is there for a reason. To teach, to heal, to grow, to learn.

Some things cannot be taught by others, they must be experienced by you. Some things must be experienced to appreciate something else.

You must feel sad to appreciate happiness.
You must feel lonely to understand the value of friendships.
You must experience loss to recognize grief.
And the list goes on...

Try to let go of your need to understand and control.
Learn to accept the unknown.
Learn to trust the timing.

The purpose of life is to live it. To taste the experience to the utmost. To reach out without fear for newer and richer experiences and to allow life to unfold.

Morning Mantra: "Everything you are doing now is like planting the seeds for your future."

Sometimes it feels like all the work you do to better yourself, and your relationships, doesn't amount to much.
But those seeds will one day bloom; in your soul, and in the hearts of others.

Whatever you feed will grow;
faith or fear,
confidence or worry,
belief or doubt,
love or indifference.

The harvest of happiness can grow from one little seed; a new approach, a kind gesture, a positive thought, or a simple change in focus.

Just keep planting your seeds and watering your garden then watch what grows.

Morning Mantra: "Make someone smile every day. But never forget you are someone too.”

It’s easy to get caught up in people pleasing.
I used to be really bad at saying "Yes" when I really wanted to say "No".
I used to put other people's needs ahead of my own.
I used to do things out of obligation not desire.
I used to do anything so people would like me.
THEN. I. STOPPED.
I realized that the cost to my soul was too high.
I realized that the wrong people were draining me so I didn't have enough left for the right people.
I realized that I had no power over my life, that everyone else was running it.
I realized that I was trying to validate myself through other people's opinion of me.
I realized that people pleasing didn't allow me to receive because I was always giving.
Now I practice self-care.
I take some time to really think about my answer before I say Yes.
I am aware of my tendency to want to help at my own expense.
I no longer change myself to get approval.
I understand that giving of myself and my time should be reciprocated.
I still do a lot for others. But I extend that kindness to myself as well.

Some souls enter our lives quietly. No grand entrance. No promises. No certainty about how long they will stay. Yet somehow, they leave footprints deeper than those who walked beside us for years.

A horse never asks for much. Trust. Kindness. Respect. And when it gives its heart, it does so completely. That is why their absence can feel so heavy. Not because they were "just an animal," but because they became part of our story. Part of our mornings, our routines, our happiest memories, and sometimes even our healing.

The image of a lone horse walking toward the horizon feels familiar to anyone who has ever loved deeply and lost. There is sadness in it, but there is also peace. Because real love does not disappear when someone leaves. It changes form. It becomes a memory that visits unexpectedly. A familiar scent carried by the wind. A photograph that makes you stop scrolling. A thought that arrives on an ordinary day and suddenly makes you smile.

If you ever think of me, I hope it makes you smile.

Not because everything was perfect. Not because there was never pain. But because for a brief moment in this vast world, our paths crossed. We shared something real. Something that cannot be measured by time.

Too often people believe that goodbye is the end of a story. It isn't. The people and animals we love continue living inside us through every lesson they taught, every laugh they inspired, and every moment they helped shape. Their presence becomes woven into who we are.

Perhaps that is why memories are so powerful. They allow someone to be gone and still remain close. They allow love to outlive distance, time, and even loss itself.

So if one day a memory finds its way back to you, don't push it away. Let it stay for a moment. Let it remind you of what mattered. Let it remind you of a bond that was real.

And if you ever think of those who once walked beside you, whether on two legs or four, I hope the memory does not bring tears first.

I hope it brings a smile.

Morning Mantra: "If you want the rainbow, you got to put up with the rain."

I love this quote because it so perfectly describes life. When we look at social media we tend to think that everyone else is living a life of rainbows. With beautiful sunsets, well behaved children (or horses), clean houses, and delicious meals prepared by others every night!

The truth is life is more about the storms than the rainbow. Life is solving problems, learning from our mistakes, pain, hurt and sorrow.

But those rainbows make all of it worth it. The rainbows are what we work so hard for, see as a beacon of hope, and remember when we are in the depths of the storm.
The rainbows help us through the storms.

Find your rainbows each day. Forget about what other people are doing on Fakebook. See your tiny miracles in your life, and learn to dance in the rain.

People often think horses listen to our voices.

But they don’t.

They listen to something much deeper.

They listen to the energy we carry.

You can stand beside a horse and speak the most beautiful words ever spoken, yet if your heart is restless, the horse will feel it. You can smile while hiding pain, and the horse will notice. You can pretend to be strong, confident, or fearless, but a horse sees through every mask.

That is what makes them so extraordinary.

In a world where people are constantly judged by appearance, status, or success, horses judge none of those things. They respond only to what is real. They do not care about the clothes you wear, the money you have, or the mistakes you made yesterday. They care about the truth inside you.

Perhaps that is why so many broken people find comfort in horses.

Because horses never ask us to be perfect.

They ask us to be honest.

This image captures something that words struggle to explain. A quiet moment. A gentle touch. No commands. No expectations. No need to prove anything. Just two souls sharing the same space, connected by trust.

Trust is a fragile thing.

It cannot be forced.

It cannot be bought.

It must be earned through patience, kindness, and consistency.

A horse teaches this lesson better than almost anyone.

The strongest bond is not built through control. It is built through understanding.

Every horse owner knows the feeling. There are moments when your horse lowers its head into your hands, relaxes beside you, and chooses your presence over everything else around it. In that instant, you realize you have been given a gift more valuable than words can describe.

Because trust is love in its purest form.

And horses understand that language fluently.

Maybe that is why they heal hearts without speaking.

Why they calm anxious minds without offering advice.

Why they make lonely people feel seen without asking a single question.

They remind us that connection is not created through conversation.

It is created through presence.

Through patience.

Through energy.

And in a world filled with endless noise, perhaps the most beautiful thing we can offer another living soul is exactly that: our genuine, honest presence.

Because horses have always known a secret that humans often forget.

The heart speaks louder than words ever will.
