Pioneer Brand Honey is three generations strong and was started by noted Naturalist Charles Sauriol C.M in the 1920's. Keeping bees was one of Charles' most precious hobbies and he often handed out his jars of liquid "Don Valley gold" to smooth the path for conservation initiatives. Pioneer Brand was revived in the late 1990's by Charlies Grandson, André. Through a love of working the land and the

A little peak at extracting this year's crop in the Honey house. It's warm in here, 25-30c to help the honey flow out of the comb. Scraping, pulling, lifting, loading, unloading, stacking, filling Barrels and repeat. This part of beekeeping is very much like factory work but it's always exciting. The smells, the tastes and watching it all pile up.
