Watch or BID online.
He's done a some work this year, learned some lessons, improved on alot of skills.

Highlights - compete at the regional public speaking level
Participated in the first district curling event
Showed his heifer in his first jackpot
Salt (steer) placed 1st in his class at our Carlton Trail acheivment day.

Plans to save most of his money he earns from this steer for motorized toys, and a vehicle one day. Currently, He wants to upgrade his clippers. (He's still using mom's old ones)

What a weekend it's been!
Trace entered his 4h heifer into Prairie Thunder spring classic, his first big jackpot!
His heifer placed bottom of the commercial heifer class, but that's ok. This was a HUGE learning day for him. I look forward to seeing growth from his experience at this show. He had a great time! And says he wants to do it again next year. So that's a good sign.

Thanks to the committee for organizing this. I don't have any other jackpot experience, but i think this one was very well done. We are fortunate to have such a great event so close to home.

Then we washed the heifer and unhooked the trailer and scooted off to watrous for a Canine project meeting. This is fun to watch Trace and Blue learn to work together. I just wish Blue would stop puking in my truck when we travel.

Then Sunday was a great day of Judging! Not the boys favorite thing to do. But a valuable skill they will appreciate one day.

Now to get some garden in.

Does anyone want to come clean my house?

Can't forget about this guy!
He learned alot this year with his little public speaking journey.

Can't wait to see how he continues to improve this skill.

For now we are onto the next skill builder - judging day will be here soon.

Thats a wrap in 2026 Public speaking.
The boys both had a good run.
This is Dylans speech from first 3 levels, (no filming today). Can hear how he improves at each level.

He didn't place top 3 today but I'm still pretty darn proud of this little guy. The judges comments and constructive criticism was so valuable today. He learned what he needs work on to do this again next year!
He's already trying to decide on a speech topic. His fish story is gonna be tough to top!

Provincial public speaking day!

Cloverbud and Junior Speechs are done! Just waiting for the judges decision.
I would not want to be them right now. There was a very talented group of kids up there. They all did SO darn good!

Boys wanted to build a raft to go rafting on the big slough.

I thought it was a fantastic idea.

Gotta track down some real paddles now and they will be boating on the slough all spring.

Been a little quiter on the page the last few days.

Calving is wrapping up, few stragglers left, bu if they havnt calved yet they can do it on grass! Finally. Hopefully the sun shines for a few days and turns everything green around here.

Lots of water! I have never seen this slough this full since I have lived in Saskatchewan.

Sound on 🔊 sounds of spring!

On to grain farming preperations untill branding weekend.
