Uncle Bob's Popping Corn Uncle Bob's Popping Corn has been growing the best popcorn in Canada since 1985.

We are a family run business that takes pride in a product that goes to you the consumer. All of the hybrids have been selectively chosen, meticulously harvested, cleaned and packaged for you right here on our own farms in southwestern Ontario. Our products are Foodland recognized, Local Food Plus certified, GMO free as well as we are certified organic. We also grow the tasty white hull-less variety that has much less of a hull and is very pleasing to the palate. Give our tasty varieties a try, strawberry red, shamu blue, purple passion, white hull-less and traditional yellow. There is a flavour and a texture for everyone when it comes to Uncle Bob’s popping corn.

In a genius moment of farm innovation, Blair decided to repurpose the old to***co kilns to dry our popcorn cobs! How smart and cool is that to use existing equipment for a completely different purpose?

🌽 Harvest is getting close!

Our Case 2366 combine is getting ready for another popcorn harvest! The crop is drying down much better than it did last year, which is a great sign as we get closer to bringing this year’s popcorn crop home.

If everything continues to cooperate with Mother Nature, we’re hoping to be out in the fields in about 3–4 weeks harvesting this year’s crop! 🌽

The countdown is officially on… 👀🍿

🌽🍿 FUN FACT FROM THE POPCORN FIELD! 🍿🌽

Have you noticed something different about the corn cobs in the picture? 👀🌽

The cobs have officially flipped upside down! Instead of pointing up toward the top of the stalk, they’re now hanging down — and there’s actually a pretty neat reason why!

As the popcorn matures and begins to dry down, the cobs naturally turn downward. This helps protect the kernels from moisture. The leaves surrounding the cob act almost like a little roof or shield, helping rainwater run off the cob and down toward the ground instead of collecting around the kernels.

It’s just another amazing example of how nature has adapted to help the corn protect itself and dry down naturally while we wait for harvest to arrive!

🌽🍿 CROP PUPDATE! 🍿🌽

Another crop update from the Uncle Bob’s fields! 👀

Our popcorn is well ahead of where it was last year, and we’re getting closer and closer to another harvest season!

You may notice the corn starting to turn brown — and that’s a good thing! The popcorn has matured, and now the plants are naturally drying down as the kernels prepare for harvest.

We’re still about a month away from getting the combines rolling, but the countdown is officially on!

We can’t wait to bring in another crop of 100% Canadian-grown popcorn and get it into your favourite Uncle Bob’s products!🍿

🎉🍿 What a Sunday! 🍿🎉

This past Sunday, Uncle Bob’s Popcorn took part in our FIRST EVER Bayfest Parade in Port Rowan! 🌽

We had an absolute blast getting our float ready, waving to everyone, and of course… handing out popcorn! 🍿

A huge thank you to everyone who helped us put our float together, everyone who came out to cheer us on, and everyone who stopped by to grab some popcorn. It was so much fun seeing so many familiar faces and meeting new ones!

And to everyone who was hoping for some popcorn but we ran out… we’re sorry! We definitely learned our lesson and will be bringing A LOT more popcorn next year! 🍿🍿🍿

Thanks for making our first Bayfest Parade one to remember. We’ll see you next year, Port Rowan!
