Who knew King Lake Farms’ ginseng had celebrity roots? 🌱🎙️

One of the fields we rent to grow our ginseng belongs to Mike Eppel a well-known Toronto radio host and, yes, kind of a big deal.

So technically, this ginseng is being raised on famous soil.
We’re not saying it makes the ginseng more impressive… but we’re also not saying it doesn’t.

Harvest doesn’t start on harvest day. This moment is years in the making.

Did you know it takes roughly 5 years to grow a crop of ginseng before it’s ready for harvest? That means years of care, patience, monitoring, and hard work all leading up to this season.

Now the fields are getting closer, the preparations are underway, and harvest is here!

For us, a fall fair isn’t just a fun event, it’s a celebration of the agricultural way of life we live every day.

At King Lake Farms, we take pride in being part of the tradition every way we can. We sponsor, we compete, and we show up to support.

What’s your favourite part of the fair? Let us know in the comments below!

It’s not all dust, dirt and grit around here.

At King Lake Farms, we have a softer side too.

Martha has always loved writing poetry, so we thought, why not bring two things we love together: farming and words?
Because there’s a lot of beauty tucked into this life.

In the changing seasons, the long days, the animals, the land and all those quiet moments in between.

So every now and then, you might find a little poetry mixed in with the farm life around here.

This one is from Martha.

We were honoured when wanted to feature our ginseng farm for their 50th anniversary celebrations.

We love partnering with a trusted brand that shares our core values of championing Ontario agriculture and encouraging consumers to buy local.

Thank you for supporting farming families like ours, and a special thank you to Lillian, Charlotte and Ethan for making it a great day!

Be sure to give us and a follow to see the photoshoot and full interview when it comes out.
