N7 Cattle Company started in 2021, when TJ and Nancy Finch purchased a beautiful 200acre property on Lennox Road in North Bay, Ontario and embarked in a move across the country from their original farm Bar N7 Ranch in Northern Alberta. The Bar N7 Ranch was Nancy’s family’s cattle operation, which was renamed in 1985 from Greenhill Angus, originally started in 1975. TJ grew up in the Feronia area o
f North Bay, attending JW Trustler, WJ Fricker and moving onto Widdifield Secondary School. He was actively involved in minor hockey, and enjoyed a childhood filled with all the recreations Northern Ontario offers, from outdoor rinks and the trails for snowmobiling and ATVs. In his earlier years he ventured west to the Alberta Oilfields and built a career and business as a Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Over the last 20+ years his work has taken him from Ontario to Vancouver Island, throughout all the Western provinces and to the Artic circle. Nancy was born and raised on a Black Angus ranch in Northern Alberta. Nancy grew up enjoying all aspects of farm life; from catching barnyard chickens, working cattle, showing horses, competing in rodeo and involvement in the local 4H program during her childhood and young adult years. She then attended the University of Alberta working towards a Bachlor of Agriculture, moving onto Lakeland College in Vermillion AB to obtain a diploma in Veterinary Technology and finally obtaining a PhD in Animal Science from the University of Saskatchewan. Nancy has traveled and worked abroad in the cattle industry. She worked for the University of Alberta and Government of Alberta in the Animal Health Science field prior to the start of N7 Cattle Company. TJ and Nancy met in a small Alberta town of Onoway, and who share three beautiful feral farm children Mallory, Meredith and Lealand.
