Our Story
Black Duck Farm is located in Glen Nevis, Ontario, and currently produces pastured poultry. We range our chickens, turkeys, and other livestock on our pasture in a rotation, with mobile, lightweight cages and shelters. We run on a philosophy of “The animal has 1 bad day”, and strive to have the best quality chicken available in the region. Our pastures are rich in biodiversity, and get improved even more with each batch of poultry that are run through them. Our rotational grazing methods sink carbon in the soil, allow for other animals such as wild turkeys to nest in our fields,
Starting in 2016, Black Duck Farm produced chickens for family needs, until the evidence of demand all around us coaxed us in selling to the local markets. Our products currently offered are chicken and turkey, and, new for 2020, we will add cut flowers to the farm production.
