🫐 When are the haskaps ready? 🫐

That’s the question we’re getting a lot right now!

While the berries may already be turning their beautiful blue colour, appearance doesn’t tell the whole story. Haskaps harvested too early can be quite tart and won’t have developed their full flavour.

We’re keeping a close eye on the crop and waiting for peak ripeness before we start picking. A few extra days on the bush can make a big difference in sweetness and overall taste.

At Plaid Shirt Farms, we’d rather wait a little longer and offer you berries at their best than rush the harvest.

Frozen haskap berries are available for pre-order! 🫐

We’ll have Plaid Shirt Farms frozen haskap berries available at the Masonville Farmers' Market located CF Masonville Place on Friday Mornings from 8am-1pm and at 2 Tunks Lane from 9 am-12pm.

Please pre-order by Thursday at 7 PM to reserve yours for market pickup.

Haskaps are bold, tangy-sweet berries packed with flavour — perfect for smoothies, baking, jams, sauces, yogurt bowls, cocktails, and stocking the freezer for later.
