Your cocktail deserves better than a sad lime wedge.

Meet the wilder side of garnish.

Freeze-dried olives. Pearl onions. Cocktail beans. Bitters-soaked fruit. Frosted cranberries. And whatever else we decide belongs in your glass.

Unexpected. A little rebellious. Ridiculously good-looking.

Because we’re not here to make basic drinks.

Wayward Garnishes.
For cocktails that refuse to behave.

Lesson learned! You got me you little scammers.

How it happened -

I received emails to both The Wayward Gent Cocktail Infusions AND The CakeHouse ā¤ļø Tam Apsitis to apply for the Campbellford Fair. No biggie I get emails or messages all the time for shows and in-fact for one while I was typing up this.

I look at dates and check the socials to confirm it is going on and the application. Seems legit all the same and we are in a small town so knowing I have both businesses is not unheard of.

I get acceptance and payment info. Now lots of places including myself have more than one email. I use a separate on myself for e-transfers it's easier. They used a similar email.

Fine. All good.

Then I get an email saying they miscalculated the fees and they wanted $100 more - I said no and asked for a refund. They said they would take that into consideration. Weird but also I have heard from a few vendors that the fair has been disorganized in the past (after I applied) so I just figured this must be the case.

I touch back again. They said send $60 as I wasn't doing all the days I'm guessing another red flag as most shows make you commit to all the days however there are lots of shows with single days. Minimal cost I jumped in as getting the word out there is harder than it's been for me in other places.

I hear nothing after. I email a bunch of times zero info about the show so now I'm like great scammer and I'm out $180. Not huge but annoying.

I go on the Campbellford fair website. No posting about a scam, nothing in socials that I saw. Except I was wrong 51 posts down was a post - FIFTY ONE. No I didn't scroll 50 posts down expecting to see a fraud post.

Listen let me be clear. It's my fault I was tricked but it's the fair fault do not making sure it wouldn't happen again. All thy had to do was PIN the post at the top of their pages on insta and Facebook so it's immediately seen. This was not done.

Not to mention I've emailed them directly, left 3 messages and a couple other calls before I realized fully and received zero response. I sent an insta message today too because as a baker I can't just bake and have it go to waste?! I needed a plan. Rest in comments

Blue Basil isn’t here to play nice.

It’s what happens when juicy blueberries, bright lime, and fresh basil decide to cause a little trouble together.

Sweet meets tart.
Garden meets cocktail hour.
Summer meets ā€œjust one more.ā€

It’s fresh enough for the patio, bold enough for the cottage, and dangerous enough that your guests will suddenly start asking where you got it.

Spoiler: they’ll want to take it home.

No fake flavours.
No neon colours.
Just real ingredients doing what they do best.

A little wild.
A little unexpected.
A lot harder to share than you planned.

šŸ«šŸŒæšŸ‹

Blue Basil.

For people who think boring drinks should be left in the past.

Let’s stop pretending a plain orange slice is doing enough.

Candied oranges are what happen when a garnish decides to become the main character.

Sweet.
Sticky.
A little dramatic.
And covered in edible florals because subtlety is overrated.

They’re the cocktail equivalent of showing up overdressed and stealing the spotlight.

Perched on an Old Fashioned, floating in a spritz, or sitting pretty beside your charcuterie board, these little beauties turn ā€œjust a drinkā€ into a whole experience.

And let’s be honest…

Nobody remembers the cocktail with the sad lime wedge.

They remember the one topped with a jewel-like candied orange covered in florals.

Extra?

Absolutely.

Worth it?

Every single time.

This has a cheeky, luxury feel that fits Wayward Gent and encourages people to see the garnish as a statement piece rather than just a garnish.

Summer called.

It said it’s tired of boring drinks.

So we answered with a lineup that tastes like patio season, bad decisions, and stories you’ll laugh about later.

Fresh fruit.
Bold flavours.
Zero effort.
Maximum bragging rights.

No artificial nonsense.
No bartender certification required.
No pretending a plain vodka soda is exciting.

Just cocktails that taste like summer should feel—bright, refreshing, a little rebellious, and impossible to have just one.

Whether you’re dockside, around the fire, hosting friends on the patio, or avoiding your to-do list in a lawn chair, we’ve got your summer drink covered.

Because life’s too short for boring cocktails.

And frankly, so is summer.

The new summer collection is landing soon.

The only question is: are you sharing, or keeping it all for yourself?

06/08/2026

Let's be honest.

Nobody is buying a bag of oranges to use one slice in a cocktail.

You tell yourself you'll use the rest. You won't.

A week later they're rotting beside that cucumber you had "big plans" for. šŸŠšŸ’€

Enter dehydrated garnishes.

All the cocktail cred. None of the produce guilt.

No chopping. No waste. No emergency grocery run because friends are showing up in 20 minutes and suddenly you're a mixologist.

Just grab a garnish, drop it in your drink, and pretend you have your life together.

Old Fashioned? Orange.Gin & Tonic? Lime.Margarita? Citrus wheel.Random Tuesday that feels like it should be Friday? Garnish that too.

Because if you're going to drink a cocktail at home, it may as well look like you paid $18 for it.

Cheers to less waste, better drinks, and fooling people into thinking you've got a fully stocked cocktail bar.
