Heading into June, things have been moving steady around the yard between seeding, grain processing, and pellet production!

We are now aiming to begin our next 1/2” pellet production run at the start of July. The larger pellet size is a great option for pasture supplementation and helping reduce ground-feeding waste.

Our 14% Range Pellet works excellent as a pasture extender when grass quality is still holding fairly well, while the 20% Range Pellet is better suited for getting more out of dry, low-quality pasture conditions where additional protein and supplementation are needed.

If you’re looking to secure tonnage from this run, reach out early as production space will be limited!

With spring finally here, now is a great time to start thinking about creep feeding.

A higher-protein, palatable creep feed helps drive early intake, support frame growth, and take pressure off the cow when it matters most.

For bull calves, it can make a real difference too. Better nutrition early on supports scrotal development, with research showing 20-30% more development compared to lower-nutrition programs.

The sooner calves get on feed:
• Smoother weaning
• Fewer health issues and setbacks post-weaning
• Easier transition into the next phase

Good creep feed isn’t just an added cost; it’s a head start that pays back later.

Everyone loves a cheaper price tag… until it shows up in performance.

The hidden cost of low-quality feed isn’t always obvious on the invoice. It shows up in the pen, the pail, and your bottom line.

🔻 Lower feed intake from poor palatability

🔻 Reduced gains and inconsistent performance

🔻 Digestive upsets and more health pulls

🔻 Wasted feed from fines, sorting, or poor pellet quality

🔻 Higher cost per pound of gain (even if the feed is “cheaper”)

At the end of the day, feed isn’t just an expense, it’s an investment. And like any investment, cutting corners usually costs more in the long run.

Quality ingredients. Consistent formulation. Tight production standards. That's what keeps performance on track.

Well, based on the enthusiastic response we received on our previous post, it seems that many of you are quite interested in us offering the option for a larger pellet!

We have now ordered the appropriate die to produce a 1/2" diameter pellet. We feel that this size of pellet will be excellent for feeding on the ground while also still maintaining very good durability.

Our first production run of these larger pellets will be starting on January 6th. If you are interested you will need to book NOW.

We plan on producing these larger pellets three times per year in limited production windows.

And thank you everyone for all the positive feedback!

We’re excited to introduce our new 20% Range Pellet! A versatile, high-protein option for cows on pasture, drylot programs, or any situation where you need consistent nutrition to support body condition and forage utilization.

We are considering offering this blend in a larger diameter pellet as well and would love to hear some feedback!

Having our feedmill and grain cleaning line under the same roof means cleaner ingredients, tighter quality control, and more consistent pellets.
With both processes in one facility, every ingredient goes through the same controlled procedure:

1. Each load of ingredients is inspected to ensure that it meets our very high standard.

2. If the load meets our specifications it is then directed into the raw ingredient bins for our pelleting line.

3. If the load does not meet our specifications due to high percentage of foreign material, the product is then directed to the raw grain bins for our grain cleaning line.

4. The product is cleaned to spec and then redirected back to the raw ingredient bins for our pelleting line.

This allows us to produce pellets that perform the same way every single batch, every single time.
