Planted out our Lifespace wicking bed demo model with peppers, basil and pansies. It's nice and full of water being used efficiently in the root zone, which you can tell easily by tapping on the cute little hummingbird. www.lifespacegardens.com/lekker for more info on how to get yours!

With water restrictions now in place, these raised wicking garden beds help you save water while growing food. The water sits in "wells" at the bottom, so the plants "wick" the water up from the root zone, which is much more efficient. You may only need to water once a week versus every other day with a standard bed. Link in bio to see the many gorgeous styles available to suit your space.

And we're back! Hung a new banner at the Planet Bee Honey Farm & Honeymoon Meadery Pollinator Sanctuary that is starting to fill in nicely, and also just wanted to give the feverfew a moment in the spotlight as it is prolific in the home garden this year :)

Rain is coming tomorrow, if you have a rainbarrel, make sure gutters are clean and the filter is clear so you can collect it all! If you DON'T have a rainbarrel yet, we are a Certified Rainwater Harvesting System designer and can help get you set up!

This year we are supporting bees and other beneficial pollinators in a bigger way than ever before with Planet Bee Honey Farm & Honeymoon Meadery's "Pollinator Sanctuary" coming in 2027!
If you have been by their site on Bella Vista Road in Vernon, you will notice some changes as we convert a conventional pear orchard to an organic, special, safe, delicious ("lekker"!) place for bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and other species that pollinate.
We have started this Spring with a perimeter planting of native trees and shrubs that will protect the space from noise, dust and pollutants as well as a feature Linden tree that will offer gorgeous blooms, yummy scents and a bit of shade as it grows.
