We headed further south for this one. The 2025 Willamette Valley season was warm, dry, and historically early. The kind of year where the fruit tells you when it's ready. Harvested in the cool morning hours, pressed gently, and kept in stainless steel. No oak. No malolactic. Just the fruit, exactly as it came in. Fresh cherry, white blossom, tart red berry, and a clean mineral finish.

Two benches. One 95 point Syrah.

On Black Sage Bench, the landscape tells its story through gravel. Fast‑moving water once shaped these deep, stony terraces, leaving vines to work harder and dig deeper. The result is fewer grapes, ripening with concentration into darker fruit and richly layered character.

From the east-facing slopes of Mount Kobau, Golden Mile Bench adds mineral-driven lift, vibrant acidity, and elegant structure shaped by cool nights and free-draining, gravel-rich soils.

Sourced from our reserve vineyard blocks, this 2020 John Oliver Syrah is where those two worlds meet. With limited cases remaining, now is the time to add it to your cellar.

This is where our roots run deepest. Golden Mile is one of Road 13’s original vineyard sites, home to some of our oldest vines, including Chenin Blanc planted in 1972.

Set on an alluvial fan of weathered rock and loam, these soils drain freely while holding just enough moisture to keep vines steadily growing. With early light and cooling influence from Mount Kobau, the fruit comes through mineral‑driven and herbaceous, shaped by restraint rather than excess.

Vintage after vintage, Golden Mile reminds us who we are. A vineyard that’s done the work from the start and continues to define our style.

Starting April 8, we're open Wednesday through Sunday, 11am–5pm. Reservations are encouraged, but drop-ins are always welcome when space allows.

Longer days, brighter skies, and the first real signs of life return to the vineyard. The Spring Equinox marks the start of a new season here on the Golden Mile Bench, and it’s one of our favourite times of year to pour a glass and share the view with you.
We’re open Friday to Sunday from 11–4. Stop by the tasting room, pull up a chair, and celebrate the changing season with us.
