SET THE TABLE WITH BURROWING OWL
***************************************

Who would you share this with?

Carrot Fennel Fritters with Whipped Goat Cheese paired with Burrowing Owl Pinot Gris

Carrots may be a staple in the fridge, but here they take center stage. The unexpected pairing of sweet carrots and fennel is elevated by creamy whipped goat cheese with a touch of lemon. Together, these flavours are made even better with a chilled glass of Burrowing Owl Pinot Gris.

Save this for later. We'd love to see it on your table.

2022 Athene | Burrowing Owl Estate Winery

Inspired by the Latin name for the burrowing owl, Athene cunicularia, our 2022 Athene is an expressive blend of 54% Syrah and 46% Cabernet Sauvignon. It brings together richness, structure, and elegance, with notes of cassis, blueberry, blackberry, and black pepper carried through a long, textured finish.

From the Burrowing Owl Cookbook, we love pairing Athene with:
• Heirloom Tomato Fattoush Salad
• Root Vegetable & Lentil Pie
• Plum Clafoutis

Each recipe brings out a different side of the wine, from its vibrant freshness to its depth and warmth.

Discover the 2022 Athene and the cookbook online or at the Wine Shop.

2023 Burrowing Owl Chardonnay
An intense, ripe, fruity Chardonnay full of tropical fruits. The nose shows pear, peach, banana, cantaloupe melon and pineapple custard. The palate is dry, full-bodied, fleshy and rich with cream, butter and vanilla, overlying fresh pear, honeydew melon, green apple, white peach and baking spices. Pair with corn on the cob with black garlic butter, white fish pan fried in brown butter or grilled pineapple.

2014 Burrowing Owl Estate Winery Chardonnay
Ripe peach, nectarine, tropical pineapple and papaya notes on the nose with some well-integrated subtle toasty oak and fresh mandarin and lemon citrus notes to add complexity. The palate is full-bodied and rich textured but with crisp balancing acidity. Lemon, lime, peach, toasted nut, pineapple, caramel, vanilla, mango and green melon make for a complex palate, heightened with well-integrated oak. The finish is crisp and refreshing. Shows the ripe fruitiness of the 2014 vintage with winemaking restraint.

2013 Burrowing Owl Estate Winery Chardonnay
This vintage balances freshness and ripeness with subtly-used French oak. The nose shows lemon, nectarine, hints of banana and pineapple with notes of nut, lees and well-integrated dusty oak. The palate is crisp, medium-bodied with a beautiful, silky texture.

2012 Burrowing Owl Estate Winery Chardonnay
The nose shows the ripeness of the vintage with nectarine, peach, baked golden apple and tropical notes along with some vanilla, hazelnut and fresh lemon zest. The palate is quite full with crisp, zingy acidity that nicely contrasts the ripe pineapple, apple, peach, spiced pear, caramel apple, subtle oak and crème brûlée notes that linger on the long finish.
